The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has been established since September 11 1945. At the beginning, this institution was the first institution that handled mining in Indonesia. This institution is known as the Mining and Geology Bureau. This office, originally called Chisitsu Chosajo, is under the auspices of the Ministry of Prosperity. The minister who first served was Ir. Surachman Tjokroadi.
